The Breakdown is proud to present the annual Side Out Classic, which began in August of 2014 as the premier one-day early-season volleyball event in the state! The goal of the event is to bring together unique matches between premier programs that may not otherwise be seen.
We're excited to host 24 teams from all classes for the state's best one-day showcase volleyball event!
We bring teams from across the state to take on programs from the northeastern corner of the state at Duluth East High School. It promises to be a highly-anticipated and exciting time for basketball fans from around the state..

Frequently Asked Questions
- Coach check-in/team arrival time should be approximately 45-60 minutes prior to the start of the team’s first scheduled match.
- Coaches should check in at the tournament desk upon arrival.
- Insurance waivers must be completed and submitted before players are permitted to play.
- CLICK HEREÂ for 2026 electronic waiver form. Please send this to players to complete before the event.
- NOTE:Â In order to track player waiver submissions, coaches are strongly recommended to have players/families take a screenshot of the response confirmation screen for the electronic waiver and present to coach the day of the event.
- Waivers only need to be submitted once per summer.
– Teams will need to provide one line judge for each match (both varsity and lower levels)
– Locker rooms will be provided for varsity teams, but will be shared. NPHS is not responsible for lost or stolen items, so please do not bring valuables to the gym.Â
- An athletic trainer will be on site at all events.
- Matches will be played under the guidelines of the Minnesota State High School League.
– Warmup balls will be provided by the New Prague High School volleyball program
– Concessions will be available throughout the day at the high school (varsity facility).
